Jacksonville Beach, located on the Atlantic Coast of Florida, has plenty to offer as both a tourist destination and a place to settle down and call home. Also referred to as the First Coast, the city is steeped in history. It was first settled by the Spanish and then won by Great Britain only to be regained by the Spanish again. Jacksonville Beach experiences some of the best waves in the region so it appeals to surfers looking to catch the perfect wave.


According to Zillow.com, Jacksonville Beach has eleven schools. One of the best schools in the city is San Pablo Elementary School which has a rating of ten. The school has a total of 585 students with a ratio of 16 students to a teacher. Other schools in the area include Jacksonville Beach Elementary School, Seabreeze Elementary School, and Duncan U. Fletcher High School. All of these schools have ratings of seven or higher and low student to teacher ratios. There are also a number of private and charter schools in the area.

According to Zillow.com, the average Jacksonville Beach home price is $321,900. The median price per square foot is $225. Home values in this area have gone up over 10% in the past year and are expected to continue to rise in the coming year. Rental listings in Jacksonville Beach average approximately $1,800 per month for a two bedroom, two bath apartment. This is higher than the nation’s average of $1,411 per month for a rental.
